Week 8

Two months pregnant....already! Wow. We go for little blueberry's first ultrasound on Thursday. I can't wait. It always seems so much more real when you can actually hear our sweet babies heartbeat. Pictures to come later this week.

This is what's going on with blueberry this week...(courtesty of http://www.babycenter.com)
New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

I much prefer to call our little one blueberry instead of kidney bean. So until we can say he or she, the baby will be called little blueberry:)

On a different note, Friday and Saturday I was feeling great. No morning sickness but then Sunday rolled around and I literally went to church and then stayed on the couch the rest of the day. Thank you to my wonderful husband for taking our little man out for a couple of hours and then keeping an eye on him the rest of the day so I could rest. I woke up feeling better but am really ready to be done working...4 more days! :) I can't wait to come back to work Friday with ultrasound pictures in hand and a big announcement to make. I know everyone will be so excited. I also got little man a "Big Brother" t-shirt which he will wear to our super bowl party. That is how we are going to tell our friends about blueberry. Can't wait! I'm tired of keeping it a secret.

  1. I had to lie for you yesterday when Catie asked "Does Jaime have any news yet?" I said "No but Friday is her last day to work." What a way to change the subject. I'll be glad to spread the news too. Grandbaby number 6 (Blueberry)I can hardly wait to meet you!
